ESN UP Olomouc

Despite not having a very original name, we are a very cool section in the coolest city of Czech Republic.

 

WHO ARE WE?

 

• Local branch of ESN founded in 2005 (we have celebrated our 20th anniversary and we hope  to celebrate a lot more of them)
• Here to welcome and assist the hundreds of international students arriving each year at our University.
• Sharing our traditions, culture and values in order to create an international community in our dear city where it is good to live and share.
• Our god/mascot is Yolík, the most adorable black cat you will ever see in your life (no, he is not a bat or else, he is a cat and your best friend for at least one semester).

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

At present, we organise and run several activities, such as:

• Buddy System - become a friend with an Erasmus student and be his backup (more information https://esn.upol.cz/join-us">here)
• Whatsapp Group - Both our groups (member and Erasmus groups) are on Whatsapp to keep up with everything happening.
• Sport Activities - creation of sport time and events
• Trips - Discovery of the city of Olomouc and its surroundings but also trips in and out of the border of Czech Republic.
• Events - organisation of all sorts of events offering views on societies and culture promoting inclusivity, personal growth and awareness.

OUR GOALS :

• Our main aim is to assist international exchange students coming to UP by helping them get familiarised with the new studying environment, get to know the Czech student society and Czech culture.
• Another goal of ESN UP Olomouc is to help Czech students meet foreign students, because they can improve their foreign-language skills, make new friends from all over the world and share and compare their knowledge and opinions.
